Premiership Rugby’s award-winning HITZ programme partners with the MHF to deliver trauma informed training

The 15th to the 21st May is Mental Health Awareness Week, led by the Mental Health Foundation.


The theme for this year is anxiety, with a focus on what we can all do to manage and help feelings of anxiety.

One of East Head Impact's grant recipients, Premiership Rugby’s award-winning HITZ programme has partnered with the Mental Health Foundation to deliver trauma informed training for HITZ staff enabling them to better understand and manage their HITZ participants’ mental health.


Leicester Tigers Foundation are doing leading work in this area and ambassador Ollie Chessum, England Rugby’s rising star, works closely with the programme to support the participants in this area and sharing experiences of his own experience managing his mental health as a professional rugby player.
