ABOUT THE HITZ PROGRAMME

We believe that every young person, no matter their background or ability, should have access to opportunities that help them fulfil their potential.  We’re here to support when times feel tough as well as providing guidance to work out what to do next.

GRANTS IN EDUCATION - 2022-23

Premiership Rugby's HITZ Programme

Supported by CVC and East Head Impact, HITZ is Premiership Rugby's flagship education and employability programme, supporting young people to make positive changes in their lives.

HITZ is delivered nationally by Premiership Rugby’s shareholder rugby clubs and uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to inspire and motivate young people back into education, employment or apprenticeships.

GRANTS IN EDUCATION - 2022-2023

Charity Overview

HITZ works with over thousands of 14 - 24 year-olds across England every year, supporting those who struggle in mainstream education environments and need support to gain qualifications and become more work ready.

The programme uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to get young people not in education, training or employment (NEET) back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment, and is delivered nationally by England’s professional rugby clubs.

The core offer, the HITZ Learning Academy, offers a relaxed environment targeted at 16-18-year-olds to improve their functional maths and English, develop valuable life skills and gain important qualifications alongside experience from work placements and employer-led sessions.

The programme also offers essential enrichment and sporting activities which supports the development of the whole individual through not only improving their mental but physical wellbeing as well.

HITZ enables individuals to learn in an environment different from school, gain Maths and English qualifications, build skills to become more work ready, and meet role models who offer support and mentorship.

Recent initiatives include National Apprenticeship Week and Mental Health Awareness Week - hear from the young people they have helped in their own words in the videos below.
